I am inspired by people, and the places where we have been. The images are lightly edited, and I like to stay as true to the original photo as possible, in color, composition, and light. I don’t intentionally look through my camera with influences in mind, but choosing images, and in the editing process, I am drawn to the feelings captured in the image, the stories told, and often visual flatness, and structural composition of 19th Century painter Édouard Manet. The graininess of digital imagery in low light doesn’t bother me if the visual texture adds something to the photo’s story.
